Real chance is the roll the game makes per throw. "Shown in game" is the softer number the reticle displays. Back throws and other in-game bonuses are not modelled.
How capture chance is calculated
Why is the shown percentage different from what the reticle says in-game?
The game shows a softened number (base chance to the power 5/12) while the real roll uses the cube root. Both are listed here so you can compare with what you see on screen.
What matters most?
The gap between your sphere's capture power and the Pal's level. Each sphere tier is worth several levels. Low HP helps too, up to about a 1.3x swing, and it goes through the same steep curve, so on a strong Pal it can be the difference between 2% and 20%.
How much do Lifmunk Effigies add?
Each statue rank adds 0.5 capture power, so a fully upgraded statue of power adds 7.5. That is about one sphere tier.
Formula and sphere values from the community datamine documented on the Palworld wiki (Capture Power page). Species modifiers come from the game files.
